Abstract
Technological transformations and globalization have created the need for a profound revision of translation curricula in higher education. This article explores the latest challenges and trends in translation didactics, focusing on the competences required by the modern labor market: advanced linguistic and cultural skills, mastery of technological tools (including CAT tools, machine translation, and post-editing), and interdisciplinary abilities (such as project management, intercultural communication, and ethical and critical skills). The study draws on practices from European and international universities, offering an overview of effective strategies for integrating technology into teaching. It argues that 21st-century didactics must move beyond the traditional model of text translation toward a holistic approach in which translation is understood as a professional, cultural, and technological practice. Ultimately, the article emphasizes the need for flexible and adaptive curricula that prepare future translators to meet the challenges of an ever-changing market.
