Abstract
Language is a powerful literary tool that echoes our thoughts or perspectives. It originated from the need to communicate and serves the goals of everyday life, thereby affirming the purposeful character of communication, We use language – especially written language – to transmit messages clearly and intentionally, to shape public opinion and to influence the masses. In this paper, we aim to analyze, through examples taken from daily newspapers, how the language of newspapers, depending on its communicative purpose, selects specific syntactic or lexical forms to achieve its goal. As the most widespread form of written mass communication, newspapers – both Italian and Albanian – are the focus of our study. Our analysis will demonstrate that newspaper language combines various registers, syntactic structures, and lexical resources to construct a targeted message and impact the reader.
